Richard Amberg is an award-winning screenwriter who’s worked with networks including Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney Channel and developed films with companies such as Endgame Entertainment, Spotlight Media Productions, and Katalyst Media.

Richard earned his AB in English and American Language and Literature from Harvard University, where he directed his own play at the Loeb Experimental Theatre. As a senior, he was one of four students selected for a creative thesis, and he graduated with honors. Richard wrote fiction and worked as a metro reporter in Washington, D.C, before attending the University of Southern California, where he earned an MFA in Screenwriting.

As the head of Missouri State University’s screenwriting programs, Richard emphasizes character-based storytelling, clarity and cinematic language.
